On the sneak peak for the Disappeared show that will air on 3/15, Major Mark Edwalds of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Dept said the following: “We have no clues that have conclusively pointed us in one direction over another direction….” I haven’t seen the entire show yet and perhaps that quote is out of context somehow but my response is, huh???
Here are some well known facts: Very acrimonious divorce which was to be finalized just a few days after John’s disappearance; wife stands to gain some $$$$, wife won’t agree to lie detector test; did not assist in anyway in trying to find John, no searches, no vigils, no flyers, nothing; business partner, Dave Stubben, went to Suzanne’s after John’s disappearance, John and Dave having bad financial problems and Dave was upset with John, heavy duty plastic sheeting was found to be missing from the biz when investigators searched early Sun morning, Dave was the last person to see John alive at the biz, John’s car never left the biz, Dave will not take lie detector test. Then there’s the building that burned down in Sep which was right across the street from the sign we had just put up that disappeared around the same time as the fire. Ok that’s all circumstantial, but seems to point in only one direction, foul play. And don’t forget, this happened in the middle of winter during a bad snowstorm and John didn’t take any of his stuff, including his car WHICH NEVER LEFT HIS WORK PARKING LOT!!!
Here are the facts about John going missing voluntarily…oh wait, there are none.
Seems like more facts to support foul play than voluntary missing man.
Again, same circumstances and John was a woman, this would have been handled completely differently.
I just watched the Disappeared episode this evening and must say i’m truly sorry for everything that your family has to go through. This is the first time i have visited this site and cannot believe that none of this was included in the show. I’m not a detective but it seems obvious to me what direction they need to go in the investigation. Something is seriously wrong with two people that gain from his disappearance and won’t offer any help or answers.
I saw the show and was wondering why don’t you put up another big sign and set up a camera or sit and watch and see who is tearing it down. I was wondering why his divorce wasn’t really mentioned that much except him and his wife came to an agreement. I was wondering if she was mad about the settlement.
I watched Disappeared last night about John and I am amazed that nothing has become of his disappearance. What I just read is apalling!!! WHY were these 2 not investigated?? I hope and pray for your family’s case that you hire a great PI to get these 2 to either talk, confess or at least take them to trial. Those are not “coincidences”. I think you know fully well who’s involved and I only wish I lived closer to aide in searches. I PRAY that your family gets closure.
Oh, if only you had set up some sort of surveillance on the second sign that was placed across the street from his business. I was so hoping to hear that while watching the Disappeared episode. Was also wondering why, if you are guilty of nothing, would you not aid in the search…..partner and wife. My prayers for you and your family.
Seems strange that the same day John oks settlement, He later disappears.

Are you kidding me….. I’m so confused….. I hope the investigators will start doing their job…. what a miscarrige of justice…. It seems like they have a few good suspects here… I don’t understand the lack of justice for John.. I pray your family will get the police to do their job in this case
It makes one wonder when people close to a victim, won’t help. What reasons have his ex-wife, and business partner given for not assisting in the investigation? Who and what was gained by setting fire to the business? What is the purpose of destroying the sign? So many questions…..May his loved one’s find him and answers very , very soon.
I just watched Disappeared and cannot for the life of me, understand why this case has stalled for so long. Polygraphing the ex and the partner should have been one of the first things they did. I’m no expert, but there’s a reason for that.
I wonder if Oprah would be willing to do a show on John? It would be worth a phone call. I am 3 hours south of Chicago, but if there is anything I could do from here to help you, please contact me.
